Trump refuses to apologize for Truth Social's racist video

Trump refuses to apologize for Truth Social's racist video
US President Donald Trump has refused to apologize for the publication of a racist video on his social media account Truth Social. Speaking to reporters on Friday (January 6), Trump said he did nothing wrong. Earlier, a video published on Truth Social showed former US President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as monkeys. The video faced widespread criticism after it was published and was later removed by the White House. After the incident, Trump claimed that he had not seen the offensive part of the video and that it was posted by a staffer by mistake. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, he said that after watching a part of the video, he gave it to an aide and was later ordered to remove it. The White House also initially said that a staffer had posted the video by mistake. The video was published on Thursday (January 5) night and was removed after being online for about 12 hours in the face of criticism. However, Trump said that he ordered the video to be deleted as soon as he learned of the matter and that he had no personal responsibility for it. He refused to apologize despite calls from within the Republican Party. The video claims that Trump's defeat in the 2020 election was due to fraud. The last part shows a clip of Obama's face superimposed on the body of a dancing monkey, which is believed to have been created by artificial intelligence. Some leaders of Trump's own party, the Republican Party, have also criticized the incident.
